Blyk’s Blips March 31, 2008 It appears to be that the following post coincides with Rob’s post below. How cool is that? Read on, my dearies… N.B. Blyk should be said so it rhymes with “Blip”, not “pipe”. When you attend a convention on universities (yes, I go on about that a lot. I have little else to talk of), you do almost trust whatever anyone says or does, so long as they’re behind a stand. It’s a preposterous claim to make, nevertheless it’s one-hundred percent true. When you attend a convention on universities (yes, I go on about that a lot. I have little else to talk of), you do almost trust whatever anyone says or does, so long as they’re behind a stand. It’s a preposterous claim to make, nevertheless it’s one-hundred percent true. I know because I say so.
But when someone crosses that line, they… cross the line - metaphorically of course. But you lose trust, and when a spiky haired bloke sticks a contract in your face to join a phone network named something as unusual as “Blyk”, you (or I, mainly) get a bit wary. Why give your details away so easily to total strangers?
But this was a free network. I liked […]

Stuffed burgers

Jean Curtis wrote an interesting post today on
Here’s a quick excerpt

It was an ordinary Saturday afternoon with an extraordinary appetite….One man with a grill and one woman with an idea: STUFFED BURGERS! Coming to a patio table near you this Summer.

Actually, it wasn’t all that dramatic…This was a recipe I saw in a Martha Stewart Living magazine years ago, which I tried out only once way back when. I decided to give it a go again this weekend on a whim and I don’t regret it at all.

In a mixing bowl, add your ground beef. I like to use the leanest beef possible (ground sirloin if it’s handy). Add a generous amount of onion and garlic powder, italian seasoning and a dash of salt and pepper.

(This is where people go wrong in making burgers…not enough seasoning. So be liberal with it, trust me…)

Mix the beef and seasonings together.

The next step is prepping your stuffing ingredients which  are: Basil, fresh mozzarella […]

In praise of Argentinian beef

Simpley Sexy Lingerie Talk. wrote an interesting post today on
Here’s a quick excerpt
Even Brazilians tend to agree that the beef from the south, where Brazil borders Argentina, a region called The Pampas, is the best one can possibly get. The sheer expanse of flat grassy planes allows cattle to graze with minimum effort. After all beef is muscle, and the less effort the cows do, the softer their meat will be. Add to that the purity of the grass and the water, not to mention the free-range the animals experience and you know you’ll have a pretty tasty and natural product.

Barbecue in the Garden

Barbecue in the Garden Cuca tries out a takeaway barbecue grill. One of those cheap things you buy from the supermarket and use when you to a picnic. Will it work? You can also see a good recipe for Farofa with banana and a typical accompaniment for Churrasco - Molho a Campanha - a light vinaigrette. March 31, 2008 | admin | Add a Comment

Brazilian Barbecue A proper Brazilian Barbecue is served on the spit and the waiter cuts the thin slices of meat straight onto your plate. For me, there’s no other cut for this other than Picanha, Brazilian rump steak. March 31, 2008 | admin | Add a Comment

My 7 Summer Must-do List

Food Recipe Book wrote an interesting post today on
Here’s a quick excerpt

Go to the beach. This is my number 1 must do for this summer and I guess for many people also. This is mostly what’s summer is all about, going to the beach and get a mad tan. Despite my hectic work schedule, I plan on slipping a day or two for my beach going and sunbathing experience.
Tree planting. The Earth hour event recently happened however Earth day is still coming. I have been at most 2 Earth day events and it was really fun. We planted trees under scorching heat, immersed with different communities and got to know a lot of people who share my advocacy. I am doing the same thing this summer.
Get a new bikini. My number 1 must do wouldn’t be complete without a new set of bikini. I plan on flaunting my now lean body due to stress when I go sunbathing.
Dinner out with old friends. […]
