chicken barbecue

Here’s a quick excerpt
It is the weekend. The two days in a week when hubby gets to do what he wants to do like cleaning the yard, fixing whatever needs to be fixed may it be a car he purchased or a doorknob-you name it he’ll fix it, and of course cooking and grilling. Now the latter is what I always look forward to. You know, food I love it when he grills chicken and mixes up his own sauce for it. I tell you it is way better than the stuff he buys from the store. For some reason, I still haven’t acquired the tas

Grill Day at Work!

Tino wrote an interesting post today on
Here’s a quick excerpt
So I got transitioned to a new position at work. While that whole thing was kind of a sucky mess, my new team is cool and also I’ve been introduced to a new tradition: Food Friday! Since this is the first week that it’s actually felt like spring, everyone brought in something to grill outside. There was a bunch of meat stuff, but there was also tons of vegetables and some fruit. I think the fact that there’s a licensed dietitian on the team might have had something to do with it.
Though the irony here is that I ate this wonderful picnic-day food inside at my cubicle. The fluorescent lights made it look not the most appealing. Sorry! But it was good. My sad contributions are the fruit salad and macaroni salad that I got at Topps, but hey, that’s what they asked me to bring and as the new […]

Some Thoughts on the Cooking of Fish

healthy cooking recipes wrote an interesting post today on
Here’s a quick excerpt
Deeply ingrained in all of us is the desire, or duty, to act in such a way as to promote longevity.  We refrain from running with scissors.  We choose not to stick our heads into alligators’ mouths.  And we feel guilty when we eat the stuff that’s not good for us.
On a recent visit to the supermarket I bought a large container of oatmeal.  Two or three times a week now I follow the instructions on the box and make a bowl of the stuff, which I lavishly sex up with raisins, molasses, brown sugar or dried mango.  I have fought back the urge to add a splash of brandy or Drambuie.  “You will do no such thing!” says my righteous half, after which I’ll add some crumbled up Girl Scout cookies to the gruel.
In the aim of improving health, many of us are eating more red meat, or less […]

Tropical Redneck (Beer Butt Chicken)

wrote an interesting post today on
Here’s a quick excerpt
I know, I know the name’s not very appealing! However, if you taste this chicken you will never appreciate chicken any other way. I learnt about Beer Butt Chicken (also called beer can chicken, chicken on the throne) no where else but in Houston, Texas where I was living for a short period of time. The name says it all, a can of Beer up the chicken’s butt! It’s as simple as it sounds, and the original recipe just calls for a half full can of beer and now just shove it up the chicken’s butt. I
